About the role
Cleveland Homebirth is seeking a responsible, conscientious, and dedicated midwife assistant to help support Northeast Ohio mothers. The ideal applicant is self-starting and eager to learn. We are a homebirth practice that serves a primarily Christian client base.
Job duties
- Attend prenatal appointments, homebirths, and postpartum visits under supervision.
- Maintain detailed records in the electronic health record.
- Use tools such as a doppler and blood pressure cuff.
- Stock supplies.
- Attend trainings and continuing education as applicable.
Requirements
- On-call availability.
- NRP certification, completed within three months of hire.
- BEST certification (Birth Emergency Skills Training). If not already completed, register for a class immediately upon hire.
- Read Heart & Hands: A Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy & Birth by Elizabeth Davis within three months of hire.
- Reliable transportation and reliable childcare, if applicable.
- Adequate computer and technology skills.
- Personal cell phone.
Experience with birth is preferred but not required.
Compensation
Based on experience.
