Julia Meyer
My passion for midwifery began when I was a young girl being raised in a suburban community full of young growing families. I took great interest in the new mothers’ journeys from pregnancy into motherhood. I was a support to them and a very curious student. Many years have been filled with volunteering at non-profit pregnancy help centers and I continue to play an active role in the community. I studied health and biology at both the College of Mt. St. Joseph and Gateway Community College. During these years of study I worked at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as well as The Ohio State University Medical Center and University of Cincinnati Medical Center. In 2011 I received midwifery training at The Farm, under the instruction of Ina May Gaskin, and spent four years studying midwifery through traditional apprenticeship both in the United States and abroad. I have been practicing as a traditional midwife/birth attendant for eight years and have had the honor of welcoming over two hundred babies into the world.
